Portland has so many great local shows for comedy and improv. Some festivals stay, some festivals go, some just take a break for a little while, but we're excited to start off the year by providing comedians and audiences more opportunities to laugh and have fun at/with these awesome shows!
We're so excited to see what you have in mind!
While we're willing to hear out any idea, we really love seeing a show that celebrates diverse backgrounds, focuses on showcasing unique perspectives, and/or has a cool theme involved.
Extra points if there's other elements like music, improv, or something fresh (beyond the typical parade of straight, white dudes talking about their peenies or whatever)! THANK YOU!

We wanted to create a mixed open mic that would encourage people to try comedy, poetry, or music for the first time on stage in front of a supportive audience. Lovingly nicknamed the "YOLO mic" by cohost Josh Henri. We had a great time last year and are eagerly awaiting the return of the mic this year.
Followed by Telltale's Rough Start at 7 PM.

Michael Garcia hosts Forgotten Fantasies, Saturday Morning Cartoons & Cocktails, and The Dark Arts Festival. He brought some Christmas cheer to the first Start Fresh with his holiday-themed variety show including comedians riffing holiday movies, storytelling, and comedy. The perfect way to have a happy (and not horror-bell) holidays!

We wanted to create a mic that encouraged people to try something new for the new year. We had music, sweet and romantic poetry... We even got someone to try stand up comedy! Josh and Rachelle were upbeat and encouraging hosts. The crowd was so supportive!
